Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the early candidates in the frame to succeed Vitor Pereira as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The previous coach was sacked on the weekend following the squad's 10-match winless beginning to the top-flight season.
And both candidates - each of whom have previous associations to the club - are part of the names to be considered by the Wolves leadership.
The manager is currently at Middlesbrough, which would create a possible obstacle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.
Nevertheless the ex- Luton manager - who made more than 100 of appearances for Wolves during his time as a player - is said to be a strong candidate for the vacancy.
