Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
